Classic Arcade Games Show |
California Extreme 2005
August 6-7, 2005 San Jose, California
BREAKING NEWS
Video games and pinball machines are set to invade San Jose ... soon!
The CA Extreme arcade collectors' show is just two weeks away, and the
show is forming up to be a great weekend of play, discovery,
competition, and camaraderie.
Updates: T-Shirt, Speakers, Pre-registration and PAPA combo specials
The T-Shirt design is finally done, and several options are to be
offered. You can check out the artwork mockups at:
http://www.myuselessprojects.com/cax/2005/tee/index.php. Several shirt
colors will be available, and there is an option for a cool retro
monochrome screening or a more friendly color printing. Give us
feedback on your preference, and if you pre-register we'll hold the
shirt of your preference. Drop us a note if you already pre-registered
and we'll make sure you get the shirt you want!
The Atari Film Festival returns with fresh footage unearthed from the
archives featuring some great Commercials, game test footage, and the
height of fashion sensibilities! Al Alcorn, Ed Rotberg, Owen Rubin,
and Kelly Turner are scheduled to help you fully appreciate what you'll
be watching. (Hey Atari alum ... let us know if you'd like to get
involved!)
Pinball creators Greg Dunlap, Ted Estes, and Steve Ritchie will be on
hand to discuss game design. Find out about how a rule set evolves for
a game and why your favorite shot is so easy or impossible to hit!
We've got a full lineup of speakers on topics from history to
restoration techniques, and expert players to reveal the tricks to
getting phenomenal scores on both video and pinball machines.
PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED
The deadline to get in your pre-registration has been extended to
August 1st. There are a number of benefits to pre-registration.
-Shorter line to get in to the show.
-Half hour early admission to the show floor both days.
-Five bucks off the price of T-shirts.
-Slick graphic laminated ID badge.
-Free Stuff! Get a free handheld video game compliments of Classic
Arcade Grafix.com, "I Got Next" show token, etc.
In addition, this year we have teamed up with PAPA (www.papa.org) to
offer free drawing tickets at the show for those who pre-register for
BOTH shows. How cool would it be to win a FREE Pinball Machine or
Ultracade Arcade Legends Video Game just for registering to be places
you'll want to be anyway?
There will also be parts and complete machines for sale, including
Marco Specialties (www.marcospec.com), Mario VanCleave (Pinthetic), and
Don Mueting and Rob Hawkins from Pinball Collectors Resource. Also, a
number of different pinball tournaments along with some world record
score attempts will be featured.
Spread the word - the show is coming up August 6 & 7.
If you have a game you'd like to show off or share, your participation
is greatly appreciated - bringing games gets you discounted or free
admission - let us know what you've got.
We are looking to rent a large (approximately 54') trailer with a
liftgate. If anyone has a trailer we can rent or has an account to
rent a trailer, please contact us at info@caextreme.org.
